Laura Cannon - Professional Wedding OfficiantLaura C. Cannon (http://lauraccannon.com) is an entrepreneur, speaker, author, and coach with a deep passion for bridging the worlds of spirituality and business. The past fifteen years of Laura’s life have been a period of deep self-exploration, teaching, healing, and love that has involved apprenticing and studying with spiritual teachers, ministers, healers and shamans from across the globe.
At the same time, she has been balancing her spiritual practice with a successful professional life including entrepreneurship, leadership training, and professional public speaking. Laura currently owns several businesses, including Ceremony Officiants™ (http://ceremonyofficiants.com), one of the largest and most successful wedding officiant companies in the United States. She is also the founding president of the International Association of Professional Wedding Officiants (http://iapwo.org).
Laura just finished writing her new book, The Conscious Entrepreneur, a collection of practices and perspectives for entrepreneurs and businesspeople to change their relationship with their working life. A professional speaker and a member of the National Speaker’s Association, Laura recently spoke at the WeddingMBA conference in Las Vegas.
Ordained as a nondenominational minister in 2003, she has been ministering and coaching individuals and couples for over a decade. Laura holds a B.S. from Towson University and an M.A. in Human Sciences (Psychology) from Hood College with a specialization in Thanatology and Grief Counseling. A lover of all things that blend the practical and the spiritual, Laura is also a 200hr RYT yoga instructor.

    I was lucky to see and meet Laura Cannon at the MBA conference and I loved her talk. I always felt that I charged too much, but really I’m not charging enough. I have her book now and working on changing things around.

  2. I found many aspects of this interview inspiring. I especially found interesting the segment on creating a network of officiants as sub-contractors. I am in the early stages of that myself, with just one sub-contractor, and am contemplating expanding. Thought provoking anyway… Thanks for the wealth of advice!
