Episode 10 – Marie Burns Holzer, A Marriage of Traditional and Modern Weddings

Welcome to Episode 10 of the Celebration Show. This week we are talking creating amazing wedding ceremonies with Marie Burns Holzer.

Welcome, my friends, to another episode of the Celebration Show. This week, I am very lucky to have as a guest an amazing and fun officiant from California. Marie brings a terrific mix of qualities to work on her background in musical theater, all the way through to her expertise in social media. We have a terrific time talking about all sorts of topics, but especially how she works with many couples each year to take their varied backgrounds, ideas, hopes, and dreams and craft those, with a beautiful synergy, into the kind of modern ceremony every couple hopes for. I hope you enjoy out talk as much as I did.

Be sure to sign up for our mailing list (the link is in the menu!), so you can receive our monthly newsletter, but also so you can be automatically entered in our monthly prize draw. Our first prize is simple, a $20 Amazon voucher to spend however you choose, but as we are still young show your chances of winning are WAY higher than most competitions. As our audience grows, our prizes grow. Plus, entry is FREE. Just tap in your mail, and confirm. The prizes, giveaways, and other surprises we have planned for the coming months are just our way of saying thank you for joining us on this wonderful journey.

We’d really love to hear what you think, so be sure to leave us comments, questions, or just record yourself singing and send it in. Let us know what you are doing as you listen to the show. We especially want to hear about any ceremonies you are involved in. From the crazy to the wonderful (or both!), let us know how you are celebrating this week.

Thanks for listening. The links and resources are below, and …. don’t forget to make life a celebration!

This Week’s Interviewee – Marie Burns Holzer

marieburnsholzerofficiant“Hello, gorgeous! I’m “not that kind of minister” Marie Burns Holzer and I LOVE what I do!

I love people and I love big moments in people’s lives. It is the best feeling in the world to get to the heart of an experience and help others live in a way that feels completely authentic. If you’re not having fun or finding meaning in an experience, what’s the point?!

Well, I’m a wife, mother, Girl Scout Troop leader, dog mom, relationship coach, writer, blogger, avid Instagrammer and Pinterest fanatic who loves travel, reading, movies, TV, and video games. I love coffee, food, and martinis too. I’m also new to the yoga and Spartan (Obstacle Course Training) communities. Aroo!

What does all that mean for you?

Well, I’m passionate and purposeful about what I do. For example, I purposely chose to be ordained as a nondenominational minister. This means I’m not beholden to a specific set of religious rites, so I serve couples of all walks of life and am a proud LGBTQ advocate. The focus of your wedding ceremony with me is the love and life you share. I didn’t want to become a Reverend or Pastor or Celebrant because I specifically love what the word “minister” means:

ˈminəstər/ verb.
attend to the needs of (someone).

Merriam Webster’s English Dictionary

So that’s what I do! My job is to make sure you have everything you need physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally to do what you are putting so much time, energy, and money into planning: marrying the love of your life!”
